Summer Spectacular

Hello again,

Well, I had a very busy weekend with a little mini-break from crafting, but I'm back today with a new challenge over at My Besties UK. Our challenges are now all 'Anything Goes', but with an optional theme - so the design team were challenged to use the theme
'SUMMER SPECTACTULAR'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I couldn't resist this little cutie - she is from Sherri's 'My Little Dimples' range and can be bought for just £1.81 in Sherri's Etsy store HERE. I coloured her with my Promarkers and added her to a piece of design paper showing the Eiffel Tower, as her pretty little frilly top says 'Paris' on it.

Embellishments include some die-cut flowers with pearl centres, a stamped 'adventure' ticket, some ivory lace and some adhesive pearls.

I hope you can come and play along this time with your own 'Summer' projects.

Anyone for Golf?

Good morning,

Well, time is flying by - I'm back again today with news of our next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week Julie has chosen the theme of
'SPORT'

Here's what I made for my DT project ...

Yep, I know - another LOTV image, but what can I say - I'm addicted! This one is called  'Playing Golf' and is coloured with my Promarkers. Backing papers are from my new LOTV 'Father Knows Best' paper pad and are edged with 'Black Soot' distress ink and mounted on black co-ordinations cardstock. The sentiment is also LOTV, so a full house on this one! Embellishments include a piece of black ribbon, a little die-cut fence and some black adhesive gems.

Hope you can play along with us this week.

Happy Anniversary

Good morning,

I'm back today with news of our next challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week it is my turn to choose the theme. As I am due to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary very soon, I thought it would be a good opportunity to use this as a theme - so we would love to see your 'WEDDING ANNIVERSARY' projects over the next week.

Here's what I made for my hubbie (and DT inspiration) ...

I used a 6x6" card blank and layered kraft card and some fab backing paper from my new LOTV paper pad (Father Knows Best), which is inked around the edges with 'Tea Dye' distress ink. I added four brads to the corners and a piece of ribbon before adding the focal image. Of course it had to be another LOTV image and this one is called 'Anniversary Surprise' (perfect for the theme!)  I coloured it with my Promarkers and added just a little sparkle to the flowers, before adding it to a 'Fleur de Lys' die-square cut from kraft card. I finished off with a little sentiment which was produced on my pc.

I hope you can come and play along this week - I shall look forward to visiting your blogs over the next seven days.

A Little Bit of Sparkle

Happy Monday everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend - I sure did. I was in Nottingham on Saturday at the Theatre Royal to see the Westend stage show 'Rock of Ages' - it was amazing, a fab way to spend my day.

Now onto all things crafty - it's time for our next challenge over at My Besties UK and we have been making a few changes again. Not only can you now enter without using a Bestie image, our challenges will now include an 'Anything Goes' option - although there is an extra prize if you add the additional theme to your design. For the next two weeks you can

'ADD A LITTLE SPARKLE'

So just to clarify - you can submit an 'Anything Goes' project OR follow the theme of 'Add a Little Sparkle' for the chance of winning an extra prize. Now I didn't need telling twice to 'sparkle' - I love a bit of bling, I do! Here's what I made for my DT project ...

I couldn't resist using some of my new LOTV papers (this one is from the 'Timeless Victorian' pad) and I edged it with a little 'Seedless Preserve' distress ink. I also used my new Spellbinders 'Scalloped Borders One' set to cut the bottom of the mats for the focal image.

My Besties image is called 'Little Bestie Buglets' and can be purchased for just £1.82 from Sherri's Etsy store HERE. I coloured them using my Promarkers (colours below) and then added some fine glitter to certain areas. I also added fine crystal glitter around the edge of the image before layering it, together with a string of bling (this was hidden amongst a bundle of ribbon I bought recently - how fab!)

Extra embellies include some die-cut flowers with lilac pearl centres, die-cut leaves, a die-cut doily and my sentiment (which was produced on my pc).

Hope you like it - here's my colour choices ...

Skin
Almond, Blush, Dusky Pink
Dresses
Lilac, Amethyst, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg
Baby Pink, Budding Rose
Shoes/Basket
March Hare, Morning Mist

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Have a great week,

Child's Play

Hello there,

It's time for our next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Janice has chosen the theme of

'CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I've gone all CAS again with this one - I simply stamped my image (LOTV 'Super Striker') and coloured him with Promarkers. A stamped 'Happy Birthday' sentiment and a little hand drawn doodle border to finish, then the whole piece is matted on blue card before being added to my 6x6" card base. Simples!

I hope you can come and play with us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Fantasy Stampers Challenge 12 - For the Boys

Good morning everyone,

It's time for our next challenge over at my challenge blog -

Well we are nearly at our six month marker - I can't believe it! Although we have been experiencing a low number of entries for the last couple of themes and I just wondered if there were any changes that you would like to see on the blog to improve it - would love to hear your thoughts ...

So, onto the next challenge - for the next two weeks the new theme will be ...

I think this will be a more popular theme and with Father's Day coming up we have a great reason to make a male themed card. Although your entry can be for anything male related - so birth to retirement and anywhere in between.

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I made this one for my Dad for Father's Day using an 8x8" ivory scalloped card blank. I used a combination of kraft card and a gorgeous plum coloured backing paper from my stash for the layers. The image is LOTV 'A Lick of Paint' and is coloured with my Promarkers. I added a piece of ribbon, a button and some card candi to embellish, finished off with a sentiment printed on my pc.

Why not pop over and check out what my teamies made for their inspiration.

I for Inspiration Board

Good morning,

Well, that's my first week back at school done - it went a lot faster than I expected.

It's time for our next challenge over at The Alphabet Challenge and this time Tammy chose the theme for the letter 'I'. So for the next two weeks our new theme will be

'INSPIRATION BOARD'

So we would like you to create your projects using inspiration from the board above - here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I picked out the colour scheme of grey and yellow (an unusual one for me) - I didn't have any suitable yellow paper, so all the yellow is created with 'Mustard Seed' distress ink. I also used the dress (which is stamped and paper pieced with grey paper), the yellow flowers and rosette and my version of the sentiment. Hope you like it.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog and check out how my teamies interpreted the theme too.

Father's Day

Good morning,

I'm back this morning with news of our next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our leader Caz has chosen the theme of
'FATHER'S DAY'

So here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I just love this little fellow - 'Cheers Bear' from LOTV and I coloured him with my Promarkers, with the addition of a little sparkle and some flocking to create the top of his pint of Guinness (but sadly it doesn't show too well in my photo!)

The design papers are from my stash and I added a little navy blue ribbon and a sentiment banner which was printed on my pc.

I hope you can come and join us this week with your male themed projects.

Time for Tea

Good morning,

Well, after a week of rain for my half term break, the sun finally decided to return yesterday just before I go back to school! Let's hope it's here to stay this time.

I'm back today with news of our next challenge at My Besties UK and we were delighted with the interest for our last challenge with a massive 55 entries. So, onto a new theme for the next two weeks - anyone for a cuppa? Our new theme is

'TIME FOR TEA'

So we would love to see your projects reflecting the new theme - here's my DT project for your inspiration ...

I made a 6x6" card using Sherri's fabulous 'Gypsy Rose Tea' (image 604) which you can purchase from her Etsy store HERE.  I also used some of my lush new Graphic 45 papers from the 'Botanical Tea' collection - just perfect for this challenge.

So why not pop along and join us over on the challenge blog and don't forget to pop over and check out the work of my teamies - there is also a special priced digi for you to use too.
