Something Beginning with F

Hello there,

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend - we had some lovely weather here yesterday. I am definitely the lucky one today - I am off up north to visit the Crafter's Companion store in Newton Aycliffe (I have my purse under lock and key!)

On a crafty note, I have my next DT project for the new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This month we have had five Tuesdays, so we always have a 'Something Beginning with' theme on the fifth Tuesday - Cyndi has chosen

'SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH F'

Here's what I made for a little inspiration ...

I decided on 'feathers' and used this lovely die which was free on a recent magazine purchase. Quite a simple design using some book paper and a circle of kraft card (which was run through my bark embossing folder and dusted with a little distress ink to bring out the embossing). Hope you like it.

One Layer

Happy Monday,

I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter weekend and copious amounts of chocolate!!

It's time for our next challenge over at the 'Make My Monday' challenge blog and this week we would love to see your projects using just 'One Layer'. No matting and layering, no adding embellishments - just simply one layer! Now that's not easy when you're talking to the gal who has to stick everything on her cards!! Lol. So, out came the inks and here's what I made ...

I must admit, I'm quite pleased with the finished result. I used a 6x6" card and masked off the area that I wanted to ink. I used a sponge to add TH distress ink in 'Tumbled Glass' and 'Broken China' to the space, then over stamped with one of my script stamps. I then used the feather stamp with 'Faded Jeans' distress ink, before stamping the sentiment in archival black ink. Simples!

I shall look forward to visiting your blogs to check out your 'One Layer' cards - so happy crafting!

Birthday Time Again ...

Morning everyone,

We have another family birthday today - this time it's my eldest daughter's turn, so I thought I would show you her card.  She loves anything with a 'gothicky' look, but thankfully never went through the gothic appearance phase! Lol - so her card has a bit of a gothic feel to it.  Here's what I made ...

I love these digital images from Kenny K - this one is called 'Devilish Donna' and she fits the bill perfectly.  I picked the black and purple colour scheme as it is one of Vanessa's favourites.  I seem to have a bit of a thing for feathers at the moment too, but love how they look on the card.  Papers are from my stash and the sentiment is 'Little Claire's Designs'.  If you would like any more details, you know where to find me.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
