<br />
Well, my blog has well and truly been neglected! I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted!!!! Where does the time go?<br />
<br />
I am still doing the same old thing - working, working and more working! I love my job at Crafter's Companion and I love demonstrating for the company too, but it leaves me with very little time for my own personal crafting (something I did worry about when I began this new chapter in my life). But just recently I have discovered something new to me and it has reignited my enthusiasm to play with my own crafty stash again.<br />
<br />
During a spot of research and a nudge from my writer daughter, I discovered the world of 'snail mail'. There is a whole community out there who still send hand written letters (and goodies) to one another through the mail service. To say I have become hooked on this would be an understatement! I have found a few penpals in different countries who have similar interests to me and have begun writing to them (I have always loved hand writing and it is great to be able to put it to good use again).<br />
<br />
Here are a couple of the things I have done so far:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheG4rvrMk8ldV_kRWZ4aZq4euzL1J-Ln1mCY-ACVewmumvIeIbAs4TXaWw6GBiVJS-F62ZKdvyd5NrTyO0yBcnIxUngMqfKvVfF0hScxVdnbkx71XDvnyb9GCSQyeEvEFC0Z62RBPYtr0/s1600/Alice+snail+mail.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheG4rvrMk8ldV_kRWZ4aZq4euzL1J-Ln1mCY-ACVewmumvIeIbAs4TXaWw6GBiVJS-F62ZKdvyd5NrTyO0yBcnIxUngMqfKvVfF0hScxVdnbkx71XDvnyb9GCSQyeEvEFC0Z62RBPYtr0/s320/Alice+snail+mail.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
My first package was for my daughter - I saw this idea on Pinterest and as she is a huge 'Alice in Wonderland' fan, I couldn't resist recreating it for her. Needless to say it was well received.<br />
<br />
Then I ventured into the world of swaps and made my first flip book using two A5 envelopes:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHx8CeMAzzuvLMC3sWc2DHk_swiLIKCFWaDOMYoCYjkC9MHPgq-RXCgxTa2VCK5NGGCXLfjtRqRE27-UlawDE75_f3noc-5vduPwMSZdDN9bYYIcq8mtxo0Q7V0oQaSwT5Za4lCxjXAEk/s1600/Flipbook+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHx8CeMAzzuvLMC3sWc2DHk_swiLIKCFWaDOMYoCYjkC9MHPgq-RXCgxTa2VCK5NGGCXLfjtRqRE27-UlawDE75_f3noc-5vduPwMSZdDN9bYYIcq8mtxo0Q7V0oQaSwT5Za4lCxjXAEk/s200/Flipbook+1.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>

<br />
I have now become addicted to washi tape and my collection has grown substantially! I've always had it in my stash, but never really used it much - so I'm really glad to have found a use for it in my flip books and swaps.<br />
<br />
So, I have lots more things to show you but won't go on forever in this post. My aim is to be back soon with another glimpse into my world of craft.<br />
<br />
Sending crafty hugs to you all,<br />

<br />
Welcome back to my blog, which is definitely being a little neglected lately.<br />
<br />
Last time I posted, I was just off down to our new store which opened in Evesham last month. It's situated in the 'Valley' shopping village and looks so pretty.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmZSkkif20fKAF_Fgc9QrXjs0YBInF8s8xgNVtuC5hhrgxoG6c7NqaqrLXR1heTcMupjsUEp8oj9_GNS6YSDyQTcrq-0N2tPOk5NT-h9oQH12o6GkbONVO1pBEyazatGE8s8ACifcpaOQ/s1600/Evesham.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmZSkkif20fKAF_Fgc9QrXjs0YBInF8s8xgNVtuC5hhrgxoG6c7NqaqrLXR1heTcMupjsUEp8oj9_GNS6YSDyQTcrq-0N2tPOk5NT-h9oQH12o6GkbONVO1pBEyazatGE8s8ACifcpaOQ/s320/Evesham.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It was most certainly a busy weekend - we had two of our TV personalities demonstrating and the store was full to the rafters. It was a couple of very long days, but my colleague and I had the best time there.<br />
<br />
Back in our own store at Chesterfield, we are now preparing for our first Birthday celebrations - can you believe it's been nearly a year since we opened our doors! We have three lovely ladies coming over the birthday weekend to help us celebrate - Leann Chivers will be in store on Friday 22nd September, Sara Davies will be with us on Saturday 23rd and Lizzy Curtis on Sunday 24th. We are selling VIP tickets both in store and online if you would like to come and join us.<br />
<br />
My crafty project today was made for my manager at the store who celebrated her birthday at the end of August - I'm sure she won't mind me showing you here ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0c3QKheVeUvZN2TVMYDcNKJIvrDV6btOs8YMwswm7yha2N8UD4lHl-M8-LPAOhVvAGUmmjua3slZo1XEdl5BXW9SHau_-ldu7D_29ndgUU3Dmn-K11kkZJ38dosZN3iLHI3dDxynLtU0/s1600/Pocket+Watch+Bday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1357" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0c3QKheVeUvZN2TVMYDcNKJIvrDV6btOs8YMwswm7yha2N8UD4lHl-M8-LPAOhVvAGUmmjua3slZo1XEdl5BXW9SHau_-ldu7D_29ndgUU3Dmn-K11kkZJ38dosZN3iLHI3dDxynLtU0/s400/Pocket+Watch+Bday.jpg" width="338" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used Sheena's glycerine technique with my Spectrum Noir Aqua markers to make the background - simply squidge a small amount of glycerine into your blending tool before picking up the scribbled water colour from your glass mat. It behaves much like distress inks, but stays open for longer allowing you to get a really good blend. I also flicked some water splats onto the background and blotted with a piece of kitchen paper to add a little interest. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I stamped the pocket watch with black Versafine ink - 'Time Flies' designed by Donna Ratcliff for Crafter's Companion, then embossed with clear powder before adding a little extra depth using the same colours.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I stamped just one of the little butterflies for a second time and coloured it to match, then added it to the top of the stamped image.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A little frantage powder and a greeting to finish off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you like my design for today.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hugz, Jan xx</div>

<br />
Yes, I know, it's been a while again! But I'm back today with a little project for you. This one was made for one of my crafty friends and as she is a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I always try and use some of my SU goodies that I buy from her.<br />
<br />
Here's what I made using the new 'Daisy Delight' stamp set ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1HCURVTIp24KUSDzRK3DT0nP1H4Kqh6_pExnDluoZCJ8HTD4bkyUPZpirboP-kRW8SkazgRgzQR7DfZSmIdaxJ6gARLMgTUmLme_fJIDeJ9G_KN7iyci9DblNPzMwnnVnNGhA4nm502g/s1600/Daisy+Delight.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1228" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1HCURVTIp24KUSDzRK3DT0nP1H4Kqh6_pExnDluoZCJ8HTD4bkyUPZpirboP-kRW8SkazgRgzQR7DfZSmIdaxJ6gARLMgTUmLme_fJIDeJ9G_KN7iyci9DblNPzMwnnVnNGhA4nm502g/s400/Daisy+Delight.jpg" width="306" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I began with a 5.5" square of white stamping card and stamped the large daisy and small flower head all over using Versamark ink, then added white embossing powder and heat embossed to create a resist background. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next I added Distress Oxide ink in Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick using a felt applicator (I just wanted a nice smooth finish for this one). I must admit I never thought I would love anything as much as my Distress Inks, but the Oxides are coming up a pretty firm second favourite!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also stamped and embossed a couple of the daisies onto white stamping card and punched them out using the corresponding Daisy Punch. I decided to cut them in half to make my focal point daisies and added a sparkly centre to each.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added a couple of scraps of design paper cut into pennants, a piece of polkadot ribbon and used some pink twine to make the flower stems.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The sentiment is also Stampin' Up and was cut out using a pretty 'Stitched Oval' die.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The whole piece is mounted on a kraft card layer and added to a 6" x 6" white scalloped card blank. Needless to say, my friend loved it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am off down to our new store early tomorrow morning, which opened its doors in Evesham on Monday, to help out over what should be a very busy weekend for them. If you are local to the area, why not pop in and say hello - we have Leann Chivers demonstrating on Saturday (19th) and Sheena Douglass on Sunday (20th). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">It's been ages since my last post, but I have been having a nightmare of a time with Blogger. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but every time I go to open my blog it redirects it to an advertising page - it's driving me mad!! I have googled how to stop this and ran what seems like millions of antivirus/malware programmes to try and detect the problem - but it's still doing it!!! Aaaaaargh!!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Anyhow, I have managed to get in here today and it is letting me post (for now). So a lot has happened since I last posted, but I won't bore you with all the details. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">We have had a little change round at the shop and some of the staff are now producing the samples to showcase the new product launches at Crafter's Companion, so I thought I would show you one of my samples for the new Mockingbird Lane Perfect Partners collection by Sheena Douglass.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I have absolutely loved playing with these gorgeous little houses - here's the church from the collection ...</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZJWnuBsmZdPMIYiOu4wxDP2Vr1ND4oDFC3mt6lVK4dRZCr7sU_boxxAZOlDtZC71YhNWfqJO-E2lVxAQZI0lYhFmvxYsTV8HbsPBiJHX2gouGOanZzxY-s0S-WIdiHh_VHH-96AEiCGU/s1600/Mockingbird+Church.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1257" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZJWnuBsmZdPMIYiOu4wxDP2Vr1ND4oDFC3mt6lVK4dRZCr7sU_boxxAZOlDtZC71YhNWfqJO-E2lVxAQZI0lYhFmvxYsTV8HbsPBiJHX2gouGOanZzxY-s0S-WIdiHh_VHH-96AEiCGU/s400/Mockingbird+Church.jpg" width="313" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The background is made with distress inks, then over stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white detail powder using the little snowflakes from the collection.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The dies and stamps are so easy to use and I have layered up some of the elements to give a 3D effect. The image is coloured with alcohol markers and I also added a little glitter to the snow areas for some sparkle.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">My sample is now proudly residing on the display at the shop for our customers to use for a little inspiration.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I will try not to leave it so long before I post again this time, providing I can get back on Blogger. I would love to hear from you if you have had similar problems, especially if you have managed to fix them!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
First of all, my apologies for neglecting my blog for the last few weeks! My only excuse is time, or the lack of it! May was a busy month all round, what with activities in the store, together with demonstrations and prep, and my birthday (yep, another year older!)<br />
<br />
I went to the theatre with my girls on Tuesday to see the stage production of Dirty Dancing (my birthday prezzie from both of them) and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I was squished in my seat for 2 hours (they certainly don't leave much leg room).<br />
<br />
And today is my baby girl's birthday - we keep teasing her about being 'a quarter of a century', but then she just points out just how old I am then!! Lol. So, Happy Birthday Sammy - I am so proud of the young woman you have become and what you have achieved so far in life.<br />
<br />
Now, onto crafting matters - I have a project today for the new theme at the <b><i><a href="https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alphabet Challenge</a></i></b> and for the next two weeks our Silvi has chosen 'Give Thanks' for the letter 'G'. So here is what I made ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbjn62gmvlZIDS5fJ6utfBJujOn-GfqiPN463dZ1vXO_gn-iQ8xdJB-3XspY9O_aL4f0Y4zUXTYkDjil6WDqZJDFbT0mMd5DdxJSSOv2I02dr6A92AaFT4egAfcoRTDnrK0Yz7PBTtC_4/s1600/G+-+Give+Thanks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbjn62gmvlZIDS5fJ6utfBJujOn-GfqiPN463dZ1vXO_gn-iQ8xdJB-3XspY9O_aL4f0Y4zUXTYkDjil6WDqZJDFbT0mMd5DdxJSSOv2I02dr6A92AaFT4egAfcoRTDnrK0Yz7PBTtC_4/s400/G+-+Give+Thanks.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love making this type of card - there are so many occasions when you can simply say 'Thank You' - it is only two little words, but can mean so much to someone.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The papers are scraps from my stash, and I made the greeting on my pc using two different fonts. A die-cut layer, some ribbon and a few flowers to finish off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you will come and join us at the challenge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
Well, after a seven day run at work due to staff absence, I had a day off yesterday and did practically nothing - I was shattered! So, the food shop, the washing and the cleaning still remain, happily waiting for me to tackle them today! Ooo, I've also been to see the new film in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise - The Fate of the Furious - and they didn't let me down (despite the death of one of my favourite actors). I was literally on the edge of my seat right until the end - fantastic!<br />
<br />
I did manage to pop into my craft room yesterday to make this little cutie though - I can always find time to craft, even when I'm shattered - did you notice that it was all the chores that I left until today!!! Lol.<br />
<br />
We have a brand new theme over at the <b><i><a href="https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alphabet Challenge</a></i></b> today, and Caz has chosen <span style="color: #3d85c6; font-size: large;"><b><i>'DECOUPAGE'</i></b></span> for the letter 'D'. It is absolutely ages since I did any 'proper' decoupage (I sometimes add a second layer to some of my stamped images), but this one is a traditional (although bought) set of decoupage from Anita's crafts by DoCrafts. Isn't he so cute?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGfrcvBU1o4rRQlbkjP7JNgwdSjLAG79n6HmOKFhyphenhyphen44Fe8sWZ8C64YH5sc7WlCpu9-SlhbTpixeMHyReKbCwvK2HuBIW4WzYrTA9GkgcFqwv7eVwtgGH0lI6YClFvdJq3ifP7J0tabvN0/s1600/D+-+Decoupage+inside.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGfrcvBU1o4rRQlbkjP7JNgwdSjLAG79n6HmOKFhyphenhyphen44Fe8sWZ8C64YH5sc7WlCpu9-SlhbTpixeMHyReKbCwvK2HuBIW4WzYrTA9GkgcFqwv7eVwtgGH0lI6YClFvdJq3ifP7J0tabvN0/s400/D+-+Decoupage+inside.jpg" width="263" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I really enjoyed the layering (I prefer to use my 3D glue gel to get a more rounded shape) - hope you can see it properly in my photos.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was a little sad when making it though, as the reason for the staff absence at work was one of my colleagues (who has become a really good friend) lost one of her beloved furbabies last weekend - so my heart goes out to her. And although my card is blue, I still thought about her little furball - RIP Milly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyways, I hope you can pop over to the challenge blog and say 'Hi' and maybe join us with your own 'decoupaged' projects.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Enjoy your day,</div>

<br />
I am back at work today, after enjoying a whole week off last week. I had plenty of time to craft and I have been making some home decor items in readiness for a craft fayre at the end of May - I will show you some pictures when I have taken the photos.<br />
<br />
I also made this card ready for the new challenge over at <b><i><a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a></i></b> today, and this week Caz has chosen the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'SHADES OF BROWN'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
So, I thought I would join in on taking up my new post as Guest Designer - here's what I made after delving through my stash for all things brown ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOdsr3sc4oOHyLdnjWJpUIMnt5V4TguPLW557mkxw6ICe-2q4yKHhSK1MUTpKOrxdGLTfJ7zXB0BN_KhA95ylj5oAmsoAuv-demkQibHfkD9H1ln5WqyzVaC3g2Oai9y_pwdlXsSOhZ-8/s1600/166+-+Shades+of+Brown.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="391" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOdsr3sc4oOHyLdnjWJpUIMnt5V4TguPLW557mkxw6ICe-2q4yKHhSK1MUTpKOrxdGLTfJ7zXB0BN_KhA95ylj5oAmsoAuv-demkQibHfkD9H1ln5WqyzVaC3g2Oai9y_pwdlXsSOhZ-8/s400/166+-+Shades+of+Brown.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love how this one turned out and actually enjoy making male themed cards now - this blog challenge has certainly taken away my previous hesitations about making cards for men.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have used a multitude of items from my stash including design papers from LOTV, Tim Holtz and DoCrafts, together with stamps from Sheena Douglass. I also used some die-cut cogs from the 'Just For Men' range from Sara's Signature Collection and a little Pebeo gilding wax in King Gold. Like I said, a total mash up of products, but I love the finished design.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
I.m feeling a bit calmer today, after 'Spidergate' yesterday!!! Lol. My husband had just gone out with my youngest daughter when the inevitable happened. Just as I was attempting to clear some of my stash, along came a spider ....<br />
<br />
Yes, just popped out of nowhere and brazenly began making its way across my coving (just above the doorway I kept going through)! Now I am not totally afraid of spiders (years of having to remove them from the classroom when I was in school, so I had to look brave) but this one had his bliddy work boots on, great big thing it was! So, I shouted down my eldest daughter to help remove it. Haha, who was I kidding - the problem was how we were going to get it down without it falling on us. We looked a picture - me with a bucket to catch it in, and her with a long pole to poke it off the coving. Sounded like a plan, but I couldn't guarantee catching it in the bucket - then what? So we stood there and deliberated what to do, as said spider just carried on making its way into the corner of the coving, making it harder to reach, not caring in the slightest. How rude!<br />
<br />
Comments from my daughter - 'Where did it come from?' and 'What if that's the baby!' certainly didn't help! So in total girly fashion I rang my dad (who only lives down the road) and made him come and deal with it. My hero - along he came, took one look at us and burst out laughing. When I asked what he needed, he said 'just a piece of kitchen roll' and proceeded to grab the damn thing off the coving while Vanessa and I just stood in horror squirming! Needless to say we are now spider free (for the time being). Hope it wasn't the baby ...<br />
<br />
Anyway, on to something more pleasant - I have a DT project for the new challenge at <a href="http://cardz4galz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b><i>Cardz 4 Galz </i></b></a>today, where our Julie has chosen the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #660000; font-size: large;">'HANDBAGS AND GLADRAGS'</span></i></b></div>
<br />
Here's what I made using a sheet of 12" x 12" design paper ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOVJKcwbJIGj28rakWoRJyXOy_IeIZhJDHF-_9KEzACinzEml6yuu5850dchoSrhJuAWKUrCvgqgw2GSisF35FSI9TcSWBRzUzxjqIzLidGL4Dc1y60sYpJHWXu2leiDXrW8Bk7Bkafag/s1600/45+-+Handbags+and+Gladrags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOVJKcwbJIGj28rakWoRJyXOy_IeIZhJDHF-_9KEzACinzEml6yuu5850dchoSrhJuAWKUrCvgqgw2GSisF35FSI9TcSWBRzUzxjqIzLidGL4Dc1y60sYpJHWXu2leiDXrW8Bk7Bkafag/s400/45+-+Handbags+and+Gladrags.jpg" width="351" /></a></div>
<br />
It just involves a few score lines to fold, then hey presto - one cute little handbag. I decorated it with brown core'dinations cardstock, shaped with a border punch. The little contrasting flap has a magnetic closure (the button is just for decoration). I also added two handles and a little gift tag to finish off. The finished bag measures around 7" by 4 1/2", plus the handles, so would hold quite a few goodies.<br />
<br />
Hope you can join us with your own creations.<br />

<br />
I feel like a bad blogger at the moment, it's been over three weeks again since I last posted, so please forgive me.<br />
<br />
It's been over six months since I started my new job, but I am still getting used to the new regime - I'm out out of the house and working more now than I have done in the last thirty years - how does that work?! Lol.<br />
<br />
Having said that I am absolutely loving all aspects of it - working in the store, demonstrating and teaching classes. I was promoted to Supervisor a few weeks ago, so my job role has changed a little (with more responsibility), but then I have always loved a challenge!<br />
<br />
It's been one of my days off today and I have actually had a chance to 'play' in my craft room, instead of what I now class as 'work'. So, after spending what seems like an age watching crafting videos on You Tube this morning, I found this gorgeous little project which several people have done tutorials for and decided to have a go myself. So here's what I have been playing with today ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKQXccwo0JARusqbgW3C-qthyLdXnLy1lZAkTYCVanEj5q6yvXnVSwjTN0u7UYv8woCKWj_QadPY3WwQFFpWlNJfFF3rjUOtrX7xi14lsu5r1uvy31BNRNLITWeCd7RFIKM7dHuaxh-xs/s1600/Falling+in+Love+Shadow+Box.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKQXccwo0JARusqbgW3C-qthyLdXnLy1lZAkTYCVanEj5q6yvXnVSwjTN0u7UYv8woCKWj_QadPY3WwQFFpWlNJfFF3rjUOtrX7xi14lsu5r1uvy31BNRNLITWeCd7RFIKM7dHuaxh-xs/s400/Falling+in+Love+Shadow+Box.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have used mainly 'Stampin' Up' products for this one (with a little Crafter's Companion thrown in for good measure).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made the shadow box from a piece of 12" x 12" Sahara Sand cardstock, which has a little bit of text stamped on it using some Pumice Stone distress ink. The background design paper is from the 'Falling in Love' suite, and I cut lots of embellishments from a piece of the left over design paper using some of the dies from the 'Botanical Builder' set. . I also die-cut the beautiful 'Bloomin' Heart' from cream linen cardstock to fit in the centre of the little box. </div>
<br />
I had to sneak in a pretty die-cut butterfly, which is from the 'Shabby Chic' Signature collection by Sara Davies (I think this might appear on many of my projects from now on - I love it!). The stamped banner is also from the same collection.<br />
<br />
I am planning to make more of these for an up and coming craft fayre that I want to attend, so watch this space.<br />
<br />
Enjoy the rest of your evening,<br />

<br />
I finally have one of my samples to show you today (yes, just one for now) and this one is for the <b><i><a href="https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alphabet Challenge</a></i></b> where we start back at the beginning of the alphabet today - so for the letter 'A' I chose the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #660000; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'ANYTHING WITH WINGS'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
Here's what I made using a couple of the brand new mixed media dies from Crafter's Companion which were launched during our recent birthday week with Hochanda.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTrT_pgR-DOyxzS7eiepsiP2A2EPwOjgYOUTydrLYwOoiTm2rYSN_MwuPo99JBe7U7GGkXbV20iVj0NcjGBxLKlyyHIVAK6OV-7K8wc3MYp38DySyLiJjJE__mB0_0YxUdAXVU-oXAbGw/s1600/A+-+Anything+with+Wings.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTrT_pgR-DOyxzS7eiepsiP2A2EPwOjgYOUTydrLYwOoiTm2rYSN_MwuPo99JBe7U7GGkXbV20iVj0NcjGBxLKlyyHIVAK6OV-7K8wc3MYp38DySyLiJjJE__mB0_0YxUdAXVU-oXAbGw/s320/A+-+Anything+with+Wings.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The main mixed media die set used for the little owl is called 'Twit Twoo' and I cut him from black matt cardstock, then embossed all the pieces and treat them to a little gilding wax - I just love him!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used a piece of design paper from my Tim Holtz paper pad that seemed to fit nicely with my theme, then added a die-cut border and a length of ribbon to create a perch for him to sit on. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The whole piece is embellished with some die-cut leaves in felt and leather, using the 'Maple Leaves' mixed media die from the same launch, and I added a couple of felt flowers too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The 'Life's a Hoot' sentiment was created on my pc to finish off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you can join us with your own creations - there are so many ways to incorporate wings into your projects, I can't wait to see them all.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
I'm back to work today after my week off - it seemed to pass by very quickly! It was a tough one in some ways, but also a chance to remember Mum too.<br />
<br />
I also had a fabulous evening on Saturday watching Mr Olly Murs at our local arena - he was fantastic, a very enjoyable night.<br />
<br />
So, I have my next DT project today for the new challenge at <a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b><i>Cardz 4 Guyz</i></b></a>, and this week it was my turn to choose the theme. We would love to see your projects showcasing<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #45818e; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'NUMBERS'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
This could be for any occasion, but here's what I made with a new Tim Holtz stencil ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIqriqZUayo_y-u6wSXEOg0PkDGFTYEs5TylRo-YY2jPjEN5Wdt8dK9VL-9eloaBKtQrhMX5PdCbyKDCR4g80nu7YaUOMcIOxs46lgrjKu-LrrpAhSy7-4ZyCPjltOBfBASFj2X-C72bY/s1600/161+-+Numbers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIqriqZUayo_y-u6wSXEOg0PkDGFTYEs5TylRo-YY2jPjEN5Wdt8dK9VL-9eloaBKtQrhMX5PdCbyKDCR4g80nu7YaUOMcIOxs46lgrjKu-LrrpAhSy7-4ZyCPjltOBfBASFj2X-C72bY/s400/161+-+Numbers.jpg" width="210" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided on a tag this time - starting with a piece of white card. I used a couple of distress inks in Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed to give some colour to the background, then used the Peacock Feathers through the Tim Holtz 'Numbers' stencil to give some dimension.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I coloured a smaller piece with the same colours then used a crackle stamp all the way around the edges of the tag and the focal piece. I added a die-cut number '7' in black cardstock and stamped the work 'Lucky' as this has always seemed to be a lucky number for me personally.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A few die-cut cogs to finish off, along with a couple of black adhesive pearls and a piece of black satin ribbon. Then the whole thing is mounted on a layer of black to frame it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you can join us.</div>

<br />
I have a lot to catch up on today - it's been a manic couple of weeks since I last posted! The last time I spoke to you I had just picked up my new car and it is a dream to drive - I have just about settled into it now after a couple of weeks.<br />
<br />
It's been very busy week at work with three classes to teach and I have also completed another demonstration for Crafter's Companion - this time at my own store! I was just a little nervous to say the least - lots of pressure to perform well in your own place of employment, but all went smoothly and we all had a very enjoyable day. I was demonstrating some of the new mixed media dies we have launched this week and I will post some of my samples soon, I promise. My next one is in just under three weeks, back in Beverley again - it's great to be able to work further afield.<br />
<br />
I am on holiday this week, so I have a little more time - but I can't believe a year has passed since I lost mum last year! We are going to the remembrance gardens tomorrow and then out for a meal to remember her, instead of moping around the house feeling down (she wouldn't have wanted that).<br />
<br />
So, onwards and forwards as they say - I have my next DT project for the new challenge at <b><i><a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a></i></b> and this week Helen has chosen a nice easy theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #990000; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'CLEAN & SIMPLE'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
Here's what I made in about 15 minutes flat ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtqmhqCB-oVNgniI3kT-aKyw6IWOseag_KOCupqmSTBjpJcBHLi4VkjUFM1JMJTEYVMgGy-vT0-4rH50fRyJBi3M9UvhNW20O9ULbwJJk-myoRdXyUAdulFhzmg3h3yHOqi4PGIJBh1rU/s1600/160+-+CAS.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="387" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtqmhqCB-oVNgniI3kT-aKyw6IWOseag_KOCupqmSTBjpJcBHLi4VkjUFM1JMJTEYVMgGy-vT0-4rH50fRyJBi3M9UvhNW20O9ULbwJJk-myoRdXyUAdulFhzmg3h3yHOqi4PGIJBh1rU/s400/160+-+CAS.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It consists of a couple of layers, a bit of stamped text, a couple of die-cut stars and a stamped sentiment. Simples!</div>
<br />
Hope you can join us.<br />

<br />
I am a little over excited today as I picked up my new car yesterday (well, not brand new - but new to me). I was a little sad as I said goodbye to my trusty little car that I've had for the last ten years, but it was time to upgrade before it started costing me too much money. So, I've driven to work in it for the first time this morning, so fingers crossed!<br />
<br />
I have my next DT project for the new challenge at <b><i><a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a></i></b> today, and my teamie Jane has chosen the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #45818e; font-size: x-large;">'UNDER WATER'</span></i></b></div>
<br />
Now, I had to think outside the box for this one as all I could find in my vast array of stamps were a couple of little mermaids (but wasn't sure about them for a male themed card). Anyway, I found this little guy in my 'go to' freebie box (which contains all my free stamps from my Craft Stamper magazines) and isn't he just too cute ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghhFVG-7jHI8RoLIVOl3vKtqC1ohaumKQ3vSHM6p1ATdGyv3hwYfaB9RICVp-C73KyN5ypbchsiFXfedR25RGGO_Vi4PWB06scUPBShXwjmgDEKlFJB2PLrGDeUBe3hzhcOze9QO-bkJA/s1600/158+-+Under+Water.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="381" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghhFVG-7jHI8RoLIVOl3vKtqC1ohaumKQ3vSHM6p1ATdGyv3hwYfaB9RICVp-C73KyN5ypbchsiFXfedR25RGGO_Vi4PWB06scUPBShXwjmgDEKlFJB2PLrGDeUBe3hzhcOze9QO-bkJA/s400/158+-+Under+Water.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The layout is completely flat, just layered onto a piece of co-ordinating cardstock.<br />
<br />
First I masked out the vertical strip using a few sticky notes, then added some distress ink in Evergreen Bough and Mermaid Lagoon. I stamped down the left hand side with a little swirly stamp, then added my main focal image and a couple of starfish (well, stars anyway!)<br />
<br />
The little sea horse is paper pieced so he stands out from the background, and I coloured all the bubbles with a glitter pen, then added some glossy accents to make then shine.<br />
<br />
A stamped sentiment and a piece of co-ordinating twine to finish off.<br />
<br />

<br />
I have my next DT project for you as we have a brand new theme over at the <b><i><a href="https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alphabet Challenge </a></i></b>today. This time Jackie has chosen a popular theme for the letter 'Y' - we are letting <span style="color: #ea9999; font-size: large;"><b><i>'YOU CHOOSE' </i></b></span>for this one, so pretty much anything goes.<br />
<br />
Here's what I made from the brand new issue of the Crafter's Inspiration magazine which came out a couple of weeks ago ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4MUtaXH1dWa1DpFz5DkZ1qcPyuaayelcTlHVvxu5hPSlRlhppBWW2cD47wGowEH-Qxq9iKOHln4ZUlEjaH1NUfF2EtV9A-CnkR08YLqYCQfCdLPaV9nqtMcIF4urcW03RilumqPJ_Ul8/s1600/Y+-+You+Choose.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4MUtaXH1dWa1DpFz5DkZ1qcPyuaayelcTlHVvxu5hPSlRlhppBWW2cD47wGowEH-Qxq9iKOHln4ZUlEjaH1NUfF2EtV9A-CnkR08YLqYCQfCdLPaV9nqtMcIF4urcW03RilumqPJ_Ul8/s400/Y+-+You+Choose.jpg" width="387" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This cute little basket was much easier to make than I anticipated and is made from just one piece of A4 cardstock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's decorated with papers from the 'English Country Garden' range from Sara's Signature Collection. The flowers are die-cut from scraps of the papers using a die from the same range.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added a couple of pearl strings to the handle, together with three little cute hanging hearts and another die-cut flower for decoration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My little basket is currently residing in the Crafter's Companion shop as a sample, but I think it would also look very sweet full of candy or little chocolate eggs for Easter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you will come and join us with your own projects.</div>

<br />
I wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to my friends and followers today, and for the lovely kind words that many of you leave in my comments box - they are very much appreciated, and I can only apologise for my tardiness in returning the favour.<br />
<br />
I'm back today with another DT project for the new challenge at <b><i><a href="http://cardz4galz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Galz</a></i></b>, and this time Babs has chosen the theme<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: x-large;">'CARDS FOR TEENZ'</span></div>
<br />
Here's what I made for the challenge ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIOm5afrVPPIfc3Kwkn1L1oYKcOm2OgIkMRk26J7fNyMtIERI-eubs9wKZe3mYx2NWdWq9qEXR5Tptis1m2n8fM4K8lqZBZ9jSFRUi9pc8_SjnEhJJs-dyOGmqubAUpoLPEAJq7pJwATc/s1600/41+-+Teenage+Birthday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIOm5afrVPPIfc3Kwkn1L1oYKcOm2OgIkMRk26J7fNyMtIERI-eubs9wKZe3mYx2NWdWq9qEXR5Tptis1m2n8fM4K8lqZBZ9jSFRUi9pc8_SjnEhJJs-dyOGmqubAUpoLPEAJq7pJwATc/s400/41+-+Teenage+Birthday.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This one came together quite quickly using a cream scalloped edge 6" x 6" card blank as a base.<br />
<br />
I added a piece of beautifully glittered design paper from my stash. The second layer is a piece of co-ordinating design paper which I passed through my 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder from the 'Birthday Party' Signature Collection by Sara Davies. I cut the left hand edge with a border die to give a little extra detail.<br />
<br />
The topper is partially embossed with a pretty flower folder, then I stamped the word 'Sweet' using my single alphabet letter stamps. The numbers are die-cut using a die also from the 'Birthday Party' collection (and were sneakily cut from the background piece, under the second layer which is now hidden!)<br />
<br />
A few embellishment to finish off, including a piece of organza ribbon, a pretty flower with a nice pearl centre, a couple of punched hearts and a sweet little silver balloon charm.<br />
<br />
Hope you can come and join us with your own 'teenage' creations this time.<br />

<br />
Well, I had my first Sunday off since starting my new job (apart from the Christmas holiday ones) and what did I do - craft of course! I have two family birthdays coming up this week so needed to get busy - my hubby and my sister both celebrate their birthdays within two days of each other, so a busy week. I will show you their cards at a later date though.<br />
<br />
I have my next DT project for the new challenge at <i><a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a></i> today and Caz has chosen a very appropriate theme for the time of year. Here's what I made for our new challenge<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'LOVE YOU!'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQl0ayE3yuIetkncl-4M-yuRVwq_EuIkvnDVm-tyCoNn3F1kAkiRdYw87A2FQ037uev5FVXCDCnj5AhGqsQS7WrpOuXkd5hGaP8Pg0b6LUDjAWmbyms_L8cAGDoXgD9tOh47ovA1YKunk/s1600/156+-+Love+You.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQl0ayE3yuIetkncl-4M-yuRVwq_EuIkvnDVm-tyCoNn3F1kAkiRdYw87A2FQ037uev5FVXCDCnj5AhGqsQS7WrpOuXkd5hGaP8Pg0b6LUDjAWmbyms_L8cAGDoXgD9tOh47ovA1YKunk/s400/156+-+Love+You.jpg" width="397" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm really pleased with how this one turned out. A little bit of stamping and some die-cutting made this an easy one to put together. I love the cute little wooden heart just to finish off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The text is actually a scrap of design paper, the background stamping is from my 'Gorgeous Grunge' set by Stampin' Up (a real go-to stamp set - I love it!) The hearts are cut using Leonie Pujol's mixed media dies and I cut them from several scraps of design paper and cardstock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope to see you at the challenge,</div>

<br />
I hope everyone is keeping well - I have been keeping busy with my new job and did my third demonstration day last weekend. I was up in Beverley and had the company of some lovely crafty people, many of which stayed to watch me all day - so I just wanted to say 'Hello' if any of you are reading this.<br />
<br />
Hopefully I will get round to posting some of my samples for you all to see - it's fantastic to be able to play with some of the new release products before they hit the shelves.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I am back today with another DT project for the new challenge at <b><i><a href="http://cardz4galz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Galz</a></i></b> today and this time our leader, Caz, has chosen a very appropriate theme for the time of year. So here is what I made for the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'LOVE IS IN THE AIR'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one was designed for my next class at the Chesterfield store and I already have seven ladies coming to join me on the 10th to learn how to make it using a selection of Leonie Pujol stamps and dies.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<br />
I've been so busy that I haven't blogged for two weeks - how rude!<br />
<br />
I have a DT project for the new challenge at <a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a> today and this week Cyndi has chosen the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #b45f06; font-size: large;">'A SHAPED CARD'</span></i></b></div>
<br />
Here's what I came up with using an old set of stamps ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdgJ0wDGxGENLPLGm0WaPcE-O_x1U6Nv10cJGLXvaLVKvQ3h2tMmAUyC8LFJtTNJxApvWjQUEhHmwaHW_eOCu3ticJEoAKqMWn6GQMI9g0cFT6iHJjvwwhoiB9Ty9GgXK1c6FBdlEy7C4/s1600/Summer+Scene.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdgJ0wDGxGENLPLGm0WaPcE-O_x1U6Nv10cJGLXvaLVKvQ3h2tMmAUyC8LFJtTNJxApvWjQUEhHmwaHW_eOCu3ticJEoAKqMWn6GQMI9g0cFT6iHJjvwwhoiB9Ty9GgXK1c6FBdlEy7C4/s400/Summer+Scene.jpg" width="377" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
These are all individual little stamps that you can use to make your own scene. So a little bit of masking involved and some colouring with my alcohol pens. Hope you like it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />JayBehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03957843898467956402noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6142532029754886664.post-5450208271773849622017-01-11T09:00:00.000+00:002017-01-11T14:45:18.819+00:00Happy 3rd Birthday!Hello everyone,<br />
<br />
Well, I'm a day late - but better late than never, I say!<br />
<br />
I have my DT project for the new challenge at <a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a> which went live yesterday as they celebrate their third birthday. So, a massive well done to my crafty friend Caz for creating and running this fab blog - in the past I struggled to make cards for men, but being a part of this design team has definitely broadened my thinking.<br />
<br />
Here's what I made using one of my LOTV stamps and my new AquaBlend pencils ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibWZE0fbwQYO2VAHua2cql20P9j_lOalVkB2BwotE5h52uj_7T5gL86ckfgJ4hwNNvhfmzo3PfekO5UU7WF53-jED5fsFlor8jsRdQeyAwZQAHp_fVeC6lk5e7nR3rXULVc7cvhYW9r3g/s1600/152+-+Happy+Birthday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibWZE0fbwQYO2VAHua2cql20P9j_lOalVkB2BwotE5h52uj_7T5gL86ckfgJ4hwNNvhfmzo3PfekO5UU7WF53-jED5fsFlor8jsRdQeyAwZQAHp_fVeC6lk5e7nR3rXULVc7cvhYW9r3g/s320/152+-+Happy+Birthday.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one is for my Dad, who celebrates his birthday on Friday 13th this year! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used an 8"x 8" white scalloped card blank and added design paper from my stash. I used the 'Checkerplate' embossing folder from Sara's Signature Collection 'Just for Men' and embossed a piece of grey cardstock, then highlighted the embossed areas with silver gilding wax.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The main image is 'My Best Friend' by LOTV and I coloured it with my new AquaBlend pencils by Spectrum Noir - not bad for a first attempt!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Embellishments include some grey organza ribbon, a couple of buttons and some brads to finish off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
Two days in a row! I have my next DT project today for the new theme at the <b><i><a href="http://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alphabet Challenge </a></i></b>and this time Amy has chosen<span style="color: #674ea7; font-size: large;"><b><i> 'VIOLET' </i></b></span>for the letter 'V'. So, here's what I made ...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one is actually for a friend's 40th birthday later in the month (look at me getting organised!) but she doesn't use Blogger so won't see it here.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's a 6" x 6" cream scalloped card blank covered with papers from my stash which have been distressed and inked around the edges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The larger purple heart is cut with my Stampin' Up Bloomin' Heart die and then I have layered a second one which is cut from cream cardstock and has a little lilac one on top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Embellishment include a piece of vintage lace, a stamped LOTV sentiment, some die-cut flowers and a piece of tied twine, along with some adhesive pearls/gems. Hope she likes it.</div>

<br />
Well, I started the New Year with a horrible cold, but am feeling much better now and I'm not going to let it get me down!<br />
<br />
I am back today with my first DT project for the year and have thoroughly enjoyed getting inky for the new challenge at <b><i><a href="http://cardz4galz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Galz</a></i></b> today. My teamie Aly has chose the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'ARTIST TRADING CARDS' </i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>(ATCs)</i></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Now, it's absolutely ages since I made any ATCs and I really enjoyed myself - here's what I came up with for a little inspiration ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbCb866eRar1_ErxlKR5b-9WkSN3qjZUuviqGgsF-OVHs0LIck_duXcIimXK68aSdtW2xT3u-RbXaLrU7dU_kijOFX2LnupVJ2bEuAbauabaChoeOvKUHsr_zSbdeBgARr0PRIsviehKg/s1600/38+-+ATCs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="196" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbCb866eRar1_ErxlKR5b-9WkSN3qjZUuviqGgsF-OVHs0LIck_duXcIimXK68aSdtW2xT3u-RbXaLrU7dU_kijOFX2LnupVJ2bEuAbauabaChoeOvKUHsr_zSbdeBgARr0PRIsviehKg/s400/38+-+ATCs.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Artist Trading Cards are little miniature pieces of art that measure 2.5" x 3.5" - I decided to make a set of three (sometimes referred to as 'Triptych' - a picture on three panels).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I cut a piece of white Neenah cardstock slightly smaller than 2.5" x 7.5" (as I wanted to mount each piece on black when I finished).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Using my blending tool I added a light covering of distress ink in Antique Linen and Worn Lipstick, then used a flower stencil and inked through using the same colours to create my background. I over-stamped using a silhouette stamp set from Sheena Douglass with a Black Memento inkpad, then cut my design into 3 equal pieces before mounting them on the black.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Why not pop over and check out some of the fabulous examples from the rest of the team.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
I just wanted to catch up with you all before everyone returns to work next week. As many of you know it's been a roller coaster of a year for me, what with losing my mum early on in the year, my husband taking medical retirement, taking a leap of faith with redundancy from a job I'd held for fourteen years, then another door opening in my craft world where I can now be happy. Yep, definitely a roller coaster of a ride!<br />
<br />
So, as we begin 2017 I've had to make a few changes here in blogland. After much soul searching, I have decided to close my challenge blog at Fantasy Stampers due to my extra work commitments.<br />
<br />
As many of you will remember, Fantasy Stampers was my baby - I designed the blog and created the challenge back in January 2014, so this would be our 3rd anniversary. This hasn't been an easy decision, but I was finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with all my blog commitments and the blog I run at the Alphabet Challenge is much more popular, so I will be keeping this one running.<br />
<br />
So, all there is left to say is a massive 'Thank You' to my fabulous design team (who I hasten to add are all now settled in at the Alphabet Challenge) - I couldn't have done it without you. A big 'Thank You' to all the Guest Designers who joined us on our journey, and last but not least, all of you guys for joining in and playing along with the challenge to make it the success it was. I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey and although there won't be any new challenges in the new year, I have only retired it for the time being (whose to say I can't resurrect it in the future when I have more time)!<br />
<br />
So, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and let's hope that 2017 has some interesting things to bring.<br />
<br />
Big hugz, Jan xxJayBehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03957843898467956402noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6142532029754886664.post-62971884954858123092016-12-13T19:00:00.000+00:002016-12-13T19:00:31.892+00:00CAS ChristmasHi there,<br />
<br />
It's been a tough day today, I knew it would be. I have been at a funeral for my best friend's mum - the first funeral I've been to since my own mum's earlier in the year. So, yes, definitely a tough one - hence the late post today.<br />
<br />
We have a brand new challenge at <a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz</a> and this week I chose the theme and kept it simple with a <b><i><span style="color: #783f04;">'CLEAN & SIMPLE CHRISTMAS'</span></i></b> theme. Here's what I made (very quickly) for my DT inspiration ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHvMQ_i2aH-WAS6G2txvZVjgVP14bb0Jn8W3W1jxxv1ujPdm2HB3tUpYsSgDsHciPKJ-9NgKaHVyl2Zen-nShXidpww4qzwLRfzYjmGd7mXn1LB9qqVWgz4KHiP2qNvLr6_hpHR-XRR0M/s1600/150+-+CAS+Christmas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHvMQ_i2aH-WAS6G2txvZVjgVP14bb0Jn8W3W1jxxv1ujPdm2HB3tUpYsSgDsHciPKJ-9NgKaHVyl2Zen-nShXidpww4qzwLRfzYjmGd7mXn1LB9qqVWgz4KHiP2qNvLr6_hpHR-XRR0M/s400/150+-+CAS+Christmas.jpg" width="396" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Very clean and simple - some kraft card and my little snowman and sentiment are stamped in Vintage Photo distress ink. I used a water brush to drag out some of the colour, then added some white gel pen for my snowman and a little glitter to highlight some of the snow. I did say it was quick!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />JayBehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03957843898467956402noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6142532029754886664.post-49765911157603868222016-12-09T16:00:00.000+00:002016-12-09T18:07:53.855+00:00Use Something RedHello again,<br />
<br />
Well, the shopping still hasn't happened - I have been covering for my poorly colleague for most of the week, including today, but in return I have my first Saturday off tomorrow since starting my new job! So, I will definitely be making a start on the Christmas shopping - I have told them at work that I will not be answering my phone tomorrow! Lol.<br />
<br />
So, I have my next DT project for the new theme at the <b><i><a href="http://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alphabet Challenge</a></i></b> - this will be the last one for 2017 and we are up to the letter 'U'. The new theme will be<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;"><b><i>'USE SOMETHING RED'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
A nice easy one which will fit in with Christmas, but I chose not to go there and had a play with my new Leonie Pujol stamp set. Here's what I made for a little inspiration ...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrGWUmW1fYhJWv3H2gFnxGCbIYyTggXoaGj2dPWVLfL-DgWjf4mTgmrcsqdApug162lvdEF9Ot8125ckaGbb0z_oJU_PEW4mVpvOjoR7USYP5jjXPcr2Co0fCc5LmUdikLxqUCjsV1948/s1600/U+-+Use+Something+Red.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrGWUmW1fYhJWv3H2gFnxGCbIYyTggXoaGj2dPWVLfL-DgWjf4mTgmrcsqdApug162lvdEF9Ot8125ckaGbb0z_oJU_PEW4mVpvOjoR7USYP5jjXPcr2Co0fCc5LmUdikLxqUCjsV1948/s400/U+-+Use+Something+Red.jpg" width="391" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The stamp set is called 'Everlasting Love' - I coloured the leaves with alcohol markers and paper pieced the flower petals with some scraps of red design paper. I also used some glossy accents on the flower centres (but it doesn't show very well in my photo).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The stamped 'Wish' sentiment is from a freebie set on a magazine a while ago and I added a little die-cut red heart to finish off. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The doodled border is also stamped using the same set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you can come and join us for our last challenge before Christmas.</div>

<br />
Well, I still haven't got very far with my Christmas shopping yet as I got called into work on Monday (my day off) to cover a poorly colleague. It's a good job we only have a very small family! Tomorrow is my next day off, so I am hoping to make a start on it then, phew!<br />
<br />
I have my next DT project to show you today - for the new challenge at <a href="http://cardz4galz.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b><i>Cardz 4 Galz</i></b></a>, and this week our Babs has chosen the theme<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #c27ba0; font-size: large;"><b><i>'ANYONE FOR COCKTAILS'</i></b></span></div>
<br />
Well it would be rude to say no, it is nearly Christmas after all - I might just indulge next weekend on our work party! Anyway, here's what I made for a little inspiration ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB62Sjm_PR3W5Xn89vJpx_YAP1JmcMZs-hi4mL7oycal2jDr7KSHPZzWI8odBdNcNkDq2jVoWq4T9QHiuNZrrEKOmDQpWLPLkGFYm_BUE9_YX-3fc7S0NDqR1e8vVPz9I_-QcBZop2mgk/s1600/37+-+Anyone+for+Cocktails.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB62Sjm_PR3W5Xn89vJpx_YAP1JmcMZs-hi4mL7oycal2jDr7KSHPZzWI8odBdNcNkDq2jVoWq4T9QHiuNZrrEKOmDQpWLPLkGFYm_BUE9_YX-3fc7S0NDqR1e8vVPz9I_-QcBZop2mgk/s400/37+-+Anyone+for+Cocktails.jpg" width="182" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls 'Victoria and Juliette's Night Out' (which was a popular choice amongst the team too). I coloured the hair and skin with alcohol markers and then paper pieced their dresses to match the pretty pink theme of my card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you will join us with your own creations - see you there.</div>
