Doodle Art
Well, I now believe you should never say 'no'. I didn't think I was much good at drawing - but I thought I would have a go. I am very pleased with the results. All the flowers and hearts on these ATCs have been hand drawn, doodled and then cut out by my own fair hands! Wonders may never cease! I now find myself doodling on scrap bits of paper, to try out new ideas. It doesn't take much to keep me happy!

It's My Birthday!
Well, I just had to post today - because it's my birthday.
Happy Birthday to me!
I have had a lovely day (especially as it is my day off work!). First I opened my birthday cards from my family, and received a gorgeous necklace from my youngest daughter. Then cards from my work colleagues, then opened all the little envelopes that had arrived from my DC friends containing some gorgeous BRAKs. They are a very talented bunch of people, and I feel privileged to have them as my friends. Then my lovely O/H took me out for my lunch at a local pub, and to round off the afternoon, my eldest daughter is home from university for the weekend - what better birthday present (her sister was equally pleased to see her too!) Oooh! forgot to mention that my O/H had already spent his hard earned cash on some crafty goodies too.
What more can a girl ask for? Today was definitely a good day, even though I am now officially a year older!

My First Gothic Arch
I am not sure whether it should, but I am pleased with the result.
The flowers on the front are hand drawn and coloured with watercolour pencils.
I have added two die cut butterflies and a variety of lettering.
The inside shows a funky fairy amidst some die cut doodle flowers.
I do hope the person it is for will like it.

Rock Hard Metal Fairy
Well, I have had a ball today! After raiding my hubbies tool box yesterday, I have found a whole new world of embellishments that I didn't know I had!! I now have a little box of assorted metal bits to play with and when I found these silver washers - an idea sprang straight into my mind. I thought they were perfect for making a different style of button fairy (or maybe a washer fairy!) A pair of wings and a few scraps of metal shavings for hair and away we go. I am not sure what to do with her yet, so I think I will keep her for a little while - I don't want her bullying any of those delicate little button fairies! Lol.

Altered CD
Finally, I have had a day to myself today! Hubbie off to work, daughter off to school, little dog curled up at my feet - so how did I spend my day? Crafting, of course! I have made a few ATCs and then I decided to have a play. This was the outcome - an altered cd. I get fed up of the random ones coming through the post, so I decided to put one to good use. Some co-ordinating HOTP papers, stamps, chipboard letters, ink pads, copper embossing powder, a bit of ribbon and a brad later, oh! and some bits I raided from my hubbie's tool box! Sssh! don't tell him! How true though, how time flies when your having fun. Said hubbie and daughter are now back home and waiting for their tea!

Button Fairies
Just thought I would check in - haven't posted for a few days, and I promised myself that I would keep this up to date! Well, haven't done much crafting over last couple of days - so many goodies, and not enough time to play!
So I thought I would show you my button fairies, made for a DC swap. They were great fun to make, but I wasn't sure about the faces - so I drew my own! The wings are made from a butterfly stamp - the purple wings are glittered on acetate and the pink wings are stamped on vellum. I must say I loved playing in the button box!

Alcohol Inks
OMG ! I have just discovered Alcohol Inks - I know, I'm slow - you have all been using them forever! They are my new favourite toy at the moment.
These two ATCs are for a monthly swap and both have alcohol ink backgrounds. The one on the left has a stamped image on an inked acetate background, the one on the right is inked glossy card with a stamped image on stampboard, which has then been glazed.
This is my favourite colour! Again I have used the alcohol inks on acetate, then stamped with an image. A second image was stamped on co-ordinating paper and has been torn and overlaid onto the original image.
Gosh that was a lot of images!
