Z for Zentangle

Hi there,

Well, that's another week done for me and another week closer to half term - only one more to go!

It's time for our next letter and theme over at the Alphabet Challenge and this week sees us at the end of the alphabet again with the letter 'Z'. We have a great challenge for you this time, so 'Z' is for 

'ZENTANGLING'

I couldn't wait to get started on this one - zentangling is another of my favourite hobbies and I spend many an hour sat in front of the TV tangling with my micron pens. So, here's what I came up with for my DT inspiration ...

I started with a blank piece of white card and stamped the three black outline flowers - then off I went with my micron pens. All the petals are filled in with different hand drawn zentangle patterns, then I added some stems and leaves to anchor them. I doodled the border around the outside and added some little 'zendangles' around the edge. I passed the whole piece through my printer to add the sentiment. Just to finish off I added a little doodling inside the flower centres using a red pen and just a few little red highlights around the card to link in the spot of colour. Hope you like it.

K for Kites

Good morning,

We have a new theme over at the Alphabet Challenge this morning. We are up to the letter 'K' and Caz has chosen the theme of

'KITES'

Now this one caused me a problem! Do I have anything at all with a kite on! No! So here's what I ended up with for my DT inspiration ...

All hand drawn and zentangled with my micron pens! The added sentiment is from the 'Sassy Salutations' set at Stampin Up and is stamped in black archival ink. Simply mounted on black card and then on a DL white card blank.

Just Doodle

Happy Sunday evening to you all,

I hope you all had a great weekend - the weather here has been surreal! We had a massive snowfall on Friday night, followed by gallons of rain yesterday - the snow has all gone now! Let's hope that's the last of it.

I have been working on a DT project over the weekend which I can't show you yet - so thought I would show a picture from my zentangle journal instead.  I did this one while watching the TV one night - I find it difficult to just sit and watch anymore, I have to be doing something at the same time.  Here's my 'Just Doodle' work ...

This is all hand drawn using my black micron pen - hope you like it :)

Zentangle

Hi there,

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I haven't been well all weekend and have subsequently done very little!  I will be playing catch up all week now.  Whilst sat watching the X Factor last night I decided to have a little doodle in the style of 'Zentangle'.  I have played around with this before with very little success, but after a bit of research I designed my very first display piece.  I am pretty pleased with the outcome, so thought I would show you what I came up with ...

It all started out with a group of different sized circles - some overlapping and some separate.  Then I doodled for two hours with my micron pen and added a bit of pencil shading. 

Back to school tomorrow - hope I feel a bit better.
