Christmas Flowers & Foliage

Good morning,

It's time for our next challenge over at Make My Monday and this week Jacqueline has chosen a great theme for us in our lead up to Christmas. We would love to see your projects showcasing

'CHRISTMAS FLOWERS & FOLIAGE'

Here's my DT inspiration ...

My background paper and sentiment is from Kaisercraft - I love the old Victorian look of these papers. I made a border by stamping a little holly stamp and colouring it with Promarkers. Then I added some extra leaves and poinsettias to decorate my sentiment focal point.

Why not check out the main blog and see what my teamies have made too.

A little bit of Vintage

Hello crafters,

It's challenge day over at 'The Alphabet Challenge blog' and we are on the letter 'V', so would love to see your Vintage projects this week.  I love this style of crafting and I think it can be worked into so many different projects.  Here's my DT inspiration for this week's challenge ...

It's one of my favourite 8x8" card blanks, covered in gorgeous paper from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper stack, which has been edged with Victorian Velvet distress ink.  The shaped piece was cut using a Spellbinders Labels 17 die and then run through a script embossing folder for some texture.  I ran the Victorian Velvet ink over the script just to define it a little.  The stamped image is 'Kaisercraft - Botanical' and is also stamped in the same distress ink for a monochrome look.  The main image is mounted onto a piece of gold mirri card to high light it.  Embellishments include a TH paper rosette cut from the same paper, a piece of lush ivory lace and three ivory flat backed pearls.  I also scattered some gold frantage embossing powder across the card for a little extra interest.

I shall look forward to your entries over at the challenge blog.

Botanical Birthday

Hello, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend - I actually got my gardening done yesterday (only because it was like a greenhouse in my crafty conservatory)!

I have a quick birthday card today, made for a friend who loves butterflies - so a good enough reason to use one of my new stamps.  Here's what I made ...

It's quite a simple layout this time, with no matting and layering - just some gorgeous backing paper from my Papermania 'Beautiful' 12x12 paper stack which is inked around the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.  The stamp is 'Kaisercraft - Botanical' and I added touches of colour with my Promarkers and some Stardust glitter.  The edges are also inked with the same distress ink.  Organza ribbons, a birthday sentiment and some pretty punched flowers to finish off (oh, and the obligatory self adhesive gems!)  Hope she likes it!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Hugz, Jan xx
