Something beginning with T

Good morning,

Just popped in quickly this morning to let you know we have a new challenge starting today over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Jane has chosen the theme of

'SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH T'

So, here goes with my DT inspiration ...

It mainly consists of just one layer (apart from the clock centre and the sentiment). I used my Stampin' Up sets 'Clockworks' and 'Gorgeous Grunge' (two of my favourites for male themed cards). I stamped and masked the watch fob and then did the background stamping using Gathered Twigs, Rusty Hinge and Tea Dye distress inks. The sentiment is from a very old set of stamps in my stash - but I'm not very good at following the advice! I'm always putting things off until tomorrow!! Lol.

Have a great day (despite all the rain!)

L for Lavender

Hi folks,

Well, that's the first week nearly over and I am still not finished spring cleaning my craft room - I knew it would take a while, but I have actually thrown some things away!

Over at the Alphabet Challenge we have a new theme today - we are up to the letter 'L' and Mari has chosen
'L for LAVENDER'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I used my Clarity Alphabet stamps to create the lettering and filled in the background squares with 'Shaded Lilac' distress inks to match the layered cardstock.

The stamps are from Art Impressions and I used tiny little masks to stamp out all the individual plant pots and colour them with my Promarkers. I now realise looking at it that my stamped flowers look more like lilac than lavender, but it's the thought that counts! Lol.

Why not pop over to the blog and take a look at what my teamies made too.

Pretty Petals

Good morning to you all,

Well, it's finally here - the waiting is over - I officially begin my summer break today! Six glorious weeks without any school - loads of time for crafting, and the first job on my list is a complete spring clean of my craft room! I may be a while!!

But for today, I have news of our next challenge over at 'FANTASY STAMPERS' and for the next two weeks we would love to see your projects showcasing

'PRETTY PETALS'

This can be any interpretation and any project, as long as it has some flowers on (remembering it has to include stamping) - that's not hard now, is it! Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I chose another quick and simple design to showcase the stamp. It is LOTV 'Sunflowers' and is coloured with my Promarkers. A simple Happy Birthday sentiment and some layering to bring out the colour.

I hope you will come and join us with your own creations.

No Design Papers

Happy Tuesday,

Only four more days to go - not that I'm counting!! Lol.

It's time for our next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Kim has challenged us to use 'NO DESIGN PAPERS'. Although I have enough design papers in my stash to last two lifetimes, I do really enjoy making my own backgrounds. Here's what I came up with for my DT inspiration ...

I began with a square of white card and applied three different colours of distress ink (Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough and Tea Dye) using my ink dusters. Then I splattered some water on it before adding some inked splodges using the same colours. Finally I passed it through one of my embossing folders and then dragged some Gathered Twigs distress ink over the embossing to highlight it.

I stamped the wording using black archival ink and distressed the edges to match. It is fastened on with twine threaded through the four eyelets. Hope you like it.

K for Kind Thoughts

Good morning,

Well, I'm happy to say we have our telephone line back and therefore our own access to the internet once again - it only took BT six days to fix it!

Over at the Alphabet Challenge we have our next letter today - we are up to the letter 'K' and before Shaz left she chose the theme of 'KIND THOUGHTS'. So, here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

This one measures 6x6" and the top layer was run through a freebie embossing folder that came with one of my craft magazines. I inked the edge really lightly with distress ink just to highlight some of the embossing. The little tree is stamped with sepia ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut a little oval aperture in the top layer and the sentiment is stamped on the base card so it peeps through.

I hope you can come and play along with our theme this time.

Sketch Challenge

Good morning,

Well, I scheduled my post for this morning, but as of writing last night I am still on borrowed internet, still waiting for BT to fix our line problem!

I'm back today with a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Jules has chosen a sketch to follow for our theme ...

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration using Fizzy Moon 'Cheer's', coloured with my Promarkers ...

Really quick and simple - it took me longer to colour the image than to put the card together. Hope you can join us with your own interpretations of the sketch.

Spots and Stripes

Good evening,

Apologies for the late post today, but we are once again having a saga with our internet connection.

We discovered earlier in the week, after a neighbour was in the process of changing his internet provider, that there was a problem with our phone line - we seemed to be receiving phone calls for said neighbour and when we checked our own phone line had disappeared! After numerous phone calls to BT we are still non the wiser - they seem to think that an error was made in the exchange when changing over the neighbour's provider and they are trying to fix it! This has left us without our own phone number or subsequently no internet connection! GGrrrrr!

Anyway, after lots of head scratching, our other neighbour came to the rescue and kindly offered their details to connect to their internet for the time being (there are still some kind people out there after all).

So here I am, a little later than usual with my DT project for the new challenge over at FANTASY STAMPERS ...

For the next couple of weeks, we would love to see your projects showcasing 'SPOTS AND STRIPES' - a nice simple one, so hope you can join in. Why not pop over to the main blog and check out what my team made for their inspiration too.
