Father's Day

Hello everyone,

Well, back to school yesterday for the final part of the school year - six weeks until Summer (hope the weather gets the memo!) Lol.

Over at Cardz 4 Guyz today we have our next challenge and Helen has chosen the theme of

'FATHER'S DAY'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I love little James Bear from LOTV - he's here in this one using his Laptop. I coloured him using Gathered Twigs distress ink and a couple of Promarkers.

The design papers are once again LOTV from the 'Country Gent' paper pad.

Some simple embellishments including some brown ribbon, a few brads and a little 'Happy Father's Day' sentiment.

Hope you can join us over at the challenge.

Father's Day at Cardz 4 Guyz

Hi there to you all,

I'm back a little later than usual today with my DT project for the new challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz. It was my turn to choose the theme this week, and as Father's Day is on its way at the weekend, it seemed an obvious choice this time.

So here's what I made ...

I must admit I seemed to have developed a love of all this CAS recently and this one is no different. I stamped my LOTV image 'Man's Best Friend' straight onto the kraft card and coloured it with my Promarkers (the patches on the little doggie were done with my white gel pen) and I am quite pleased with the result. I then ran it through my printer to make the sentiment (I always hold my breath at this point and hope it doesn't spoil my handiwork!) I added three punched stars to embellish before layering the whole thing onto brown cardstock and adding it to my card blank.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Lazy Afternoon

Hi there,

I'm back today with our next challenge over at 'FANTASY STAMPERS' and the new theme for the next two weeks is

'FATHER'S DAY'

So, here's my DT inspiration for the challenge ...

It's 8x8" in size and uses papers from my stash and a cute little LOTV image 'Lazy Afternoon' which is coloured with my Promarkers. Extra lettering to spell out 'Dad' are also from my stash and are mounted on die-cut Lacey Circles. A piece of green organza ribbon to finish off.

I hope you can come and join us and share your own Father's Day projects over at the challenge.

Fantasy Stampers Challenge 12 - For the Boys

Good morning everyone,

It's time for our next challenge over at my challenge blog -

Well we are nearly at our six month marker - I can't believe it! Although we have been experiencing a low number of entries for the last couple of themes and I just wondered if there were any changes that you would like to see on the blog to improve it - would love to hear your thoughts ...

So, onto the next challenge - for the next two weeks the new theme will be ...

I think this will be a more popular theme and with Father's Day coming up we have a great reason to make a male themed card. Although your entry can be for anything male related - so birth to retirement and anywhere in between.

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I made this one for my Dad for Father's Day using an 8x8" ivory scalloped card blank. I used a combination of kraft card and a gorgeous plum coloured backing paper from my stash for the layers. The image is LOTV 'A Lick of Paint' and is coloured with my Promarkers. I added a piece of ribbon, a button and some card candi to embellish, finished off with a sentiment printed on my pc.

Why not pop over and check out what my teamies made for their inspiration.

Father's Day

Good morning,

I'm back this morning with news of our next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our leader Caz has chosen the theme of
'FATHER'S DAY'

So here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I just love this little fellow - 'Cheers Bear' from LOTV and I coloured him with my Promarkers, with the addition of a little sparkle and some flocking to create the top of his pint of Guinness (but sadly it doesn't show too well in my photo!)

The design papers are from my stash and I added a little navy blue ribbon and a sentiment banner which was printed on my pc.

I hope you can come and join us this week with your male themed projects.

Happy Father's Day

Hi, hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Just a quick post tonight to show the card I made for my dad to celebrate Father's Day today ...

I visited one of my local craft fairs last weekend and the first stop is always LOTV to buy a new set of stamps! I always try and choose a range of stamps to top up my collection and couldn't wait to use this one, which seems perfect for the guys. It's called 'In the Country' and I absolutely adore the little sheepdog peeping through the gate. I coloured it with my Promarkers to match the backing papers and embellished with bits from my stash.

Although I lost my own dad when I was a teenager, I consider myself very lucky to have been blessed with a great stepdad - Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

Happy Father's Day

Morning everyone,

Sending best wishes to all the fathers out there on their special day - and yes, it's another perfectly good reason to make a card. Hehe! I lost my own dad when I was 13, so Father's Day is always a special day to remember him.  I have a wonderful stepdad though and today's card is made for him ...

It's an 8x8" again today, layered with sage green textured cardstock and spotty paper from my stash, which has been inked around the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink.  I doodled a border around the edge for extra effect.  The image is 'Lazy Afternoon' by LOTV and is coloured with, yes you guessed, my Promarkers.  The lettering is made using alphabet cardstock stickers from Making Memories and are mounted onto circles/lacey circles cut using my nesties.  Added embellishments include some green organza ribbon, two fancy corners topped with adhesive pearls and some tiny green adhesive pearls to accent the image.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenge:

Craft Punked (formerly Glitter Geeks) - Father's Day

I'm also sending big hugz to a special friend today who lost her dad recently - I know today will be a tough one for her - I'll be thinking of you, hun xx

Enjoy your Sunday,
Hugz, Jan xx
