Purple Tag Art

Hello there,

I hope you all got a chance to enjoy the weather earlier in the week - I didn't see a scrap of it, was locked away in a nice air conditioned shop all day!  Although I did get chance to watch the fantastic lightening storm here on Tuesday evening, but thankfully no rain.

Just a quick post from me today with my DT project for the new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz, and this time Helen has chosen the theme of

'ANYTHING BUT SQUARE'

Here's what I made for a little inspiration ...

I love making tags and it is always an opportunity to use up some of my paper scraps. The gorgeous die cut frame is from the Crafter's Companion Downton Abbey collection (as is the little piece of patterned design paper).

A little stamped sentiment and lots of punched flowers to decorate.

Enjoy your day,

The Colour Purple

Hi there folks,

Well, we had a fantastic time up the east coast and believe it or not, we had some fabulous weather too (I even came back with a bit of a suntan!) Lol. Lots of rest and relaxation, along with trips to the seaside (and way too many calories to count!) Best get back on that diet! Lol.

Anyway, we have a brand new challenge over at Fantasy Stampers today and the theme is

'THE COLOUR PURPLE'

This just happens to be one of my favourite colours - here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I was spoiled for choice with this one as I love anything purple, but was still in a 'magical' mood after my post on Tuesday so dug out this little 'Fairy House' stamp from Lavinia Stamps.

I stamped it first in black Versafine ink, then masked it out and added a moon mask to the background. Next I began inking to make the sky and hills using three different coloured distress inks in 'Milled Lavender', 'Seedless Preserve' and 'Dusty Concord'.

I coloured the little houses with Promarkers and glitter pens, then added a little extra glitter around the stamp for some more sparkle. The stamped sentiment is from another set from my stash and the border around the edge was stamped using the bottom section of an Inkylicious stamp.

Lots of layering to finish off and some purple adhesive pearls in the corners.

I hope you will come and play along with your own purple creations - remember, it doesn't have to be a card.

Purple is Best

Good morning,

Well, I had a fantastic time last night - my baby girl bought us tickets (as part of my birthday present) to go and see the 'Take That 2015 Tour' at the cinema!! Yep, they broadcast their O2 Arena performance live from London all around the world, via the cinema - one of the best things ever - we had a much better view on the screen (instead of them being 3cm high at the bottom of the arena) and it cost a lot less too. It was an amazing show, as always - but getting your head around being able to make noise, sing, clap while sat in the cinema was really weird!!

On a crafty note, it's time for our next challenge over at Fantasy Stampers - for the next two weeks the theme is

'YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

Most of you that know me, know that my all time favourite is Purple! So out came the distress inks (Dusty Concord) and a few water splashes to make my front panel ready to stamp on.

I used black archival ink to stamp over the top, using Inkylicious 'Wild Flora', then stamped a sentiment (stamp from my stash). This is layered onto black cardstock to frame it.

Quite a simple design to show off the main panel - I just added some co-ordinating organza ribbon and a few purple adhesive pearls to embellish.

I hope you can come and join in the fun with your own 'colourful' creations.

Colour it Purple!

Good morning and Happy Bank Holiday Monday,

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend and the gorgeous weather on Saturday.

I'm back today with news of our next theme over at the

But first I would just like to say 'thank you' to everyone who joined us on our new look blog last time with a little bit of Hollywood Glamour - we had some fab entries and you can see the winners over at the main blog.

So, onto our new challenge - for the next two weeks our new theme will be

'THE COLOUR PURPLE'

Well, needless to say those who know me will know that I lurve purple! So here's what I made for my DT inspiration  ...

I decided to make some Tag Art this time and used my 'go to' shaped base tag which is covered with design papers from my stash - I find this is a good way to use up some of those little scraps we all have lying around.

I used Sherri's gorgeous image 313 for my focal point and coloured her with my Promarkers - you can find this adorable little girl at Sherri's on-line store HERE.

I also added a little sentiment which was printed on my pc, together with lots of purple die-cut flowers, some ribbon and fibres, and the lettering 'Dream' - I believe everyone should have a dream! Lol.

I hope you can come and join us for our new challenge - why not pop over to the main blog and check out what my teamies made for their DT projects, there is some fab inspiration and another special priced digi image available for your projects - just click HERE.

See you there,

Love is in the Air

Happy Monday,

I do hope everyone is safe out there after the dreadful weather over the weekend - roll on Spring (only 7 weeks until the clocks change!)

It's time for our next challenge over at Make My Monday and this week our Rosie has chosen the theme of

'LOVE IS IN THE AIR'

There are so many interpretations of this one, but with Valentine's Day creeping up fast it's a perfect opportunity to join us. Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

Having said that, I decided to go for something completely different! I decorated a chipboard heart with a piece of design paper left over from another project. First I randomly stamped it with a script stamp using Dusty Concord distress ink. Next I ran it through an embossing folder, then gently highlighted the embossed areas with gilding wax. Once stuck in place I inked around the edge of the heart with the same distress ink.

All the flowers are handmade using a Dreamees stamp - this is very quickly becoming a favourite. I stamped out the flowers using the same distress ink, then stamped the script stamp over them and inked the edges too. Next a little shaping before assembling them and adding a little lilac pearl to the centres. I added a couple of die-cut leaves for extra foliage.

I couldn't resist adding little 'Fizzy Moon' with his string of hearts and the sentiment was printed on my pc before being torn and inked and added to my project. A few little punched hearts to finish off.

I've not quite decided what to do with this yet, but my daughter has her eyes on it as her room is all decorated in purples! Lol.

Hope you can join us this week.

I love Purple!

Good Morning everyone,

Well, that's another weekend over and the start of a new week means it's time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday.  This week we have another of our famous colour challenges, chosen by Caz and we would love to see your projects using 'PURPLE plus one neutral colour'. What more could I ask for - anyone who knows me will know that I lurves purple!  Here's what I came up with for my DT inspiration ...

I decided to have another go with my inks and my new ink dusters, which I purchased at a recent show. I used three shades of purple - TH distress inks in 'Milled Lavender' (for the water), 'Dusty Concord' (for the sky) and an Adirondack in 'Aubergine' for the hills. I've also added a little black ink on the top of the hills to give some depth.  I chose black as my neutral colour so that I could stamp out the images and mat on a layer of black card.  I'm quite pleased with the results (although there are a couple of little mistakes in the reflection if you look closely!)

I can't wait to see your interpretations of the theme this week and shall look forward to visiting your blogs. Don't forget to check out the main blog for some fab inspiration from my teamies too.

I love Purple!

Good morning,

Well, nearly a week down the line and my back is still dictating how much (or little) I can do - I am so frustrated that I have had to spend my half term break from school getting myself fit to go back to school! But elsewhere in the world people are fighting larger battles than mine - my thoughts are with a couple of crafty friends this week - so get a grip Jan and stop feeling sorry for yourself!

As it's Friday, it's time for another challenge over at the Polkadoodles challenge blog - and this week it was my turn to choose the theme. Bet you can't guess what it is!! Lol. Yep - we would love you to play along this week with your projects made using the colour PURPLE. Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I made a 6x6" card and layered a couple of papers from the fab 'Sugarplum Daisy CD' before adding my topper.  The image is printed from the 'Candy Doodles CD' and coloured with my Promarkers - I lurve her purple hair! The sentiment is also printed from the same CD and both are matted onto Lacey Circles cut with my nesties. A few little punched flower embellies and some added bling to complete the card.

If you have a minute, please pop over to the blog and check out the work of my talented teamies - some fab inspiration over there for you. I shall look forward to seeing all your glorious 'purple' creations over the next week.

Fab 50 and Fizzy Moon

Happy Sunday everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend and are having some warmer weather like we are here. It certainly makes a welcome change to the nasty cold spell - let's hope that spring is on its way :)

I have been busy with a couple of DT cards that I can't show you yet, so thought I would post a 50th birthday card that I made for a friend a little while ago ...

This one is a 6x6" easel card made using purple papers from my stash - I stamped extra swirls to fill in some of the gaps. The image is 'Fizzy Moon - Thanks a Bunch' (one of my favourites!)  I coloured him with my Promarkers and chose grey this time to match the colour tones of the overall card - seems to work ok.  The bouquet of flowers is stamped and decoupaged to give some extra dimension.  The 'Fab' lettering is cut using my little old Sizzix machine and the numbers are chipboard covered with purple glitter.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set (but not sure of the make).  Extra embellishments include some flat back purple pearls, some tiny punched daisies and some purple self adhesive gems for the the flower centres.

I would like to enter this one into the challenge over at 'I Love Promarkers - One for the Girls'.

Happy crafting,
Hugz, Jan xx

Ella Bella Buttons

Hello everyone,

It's my turn to post at the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog today and I have a card made using the gorgeous 'Ella Bella Buttons' image by Sherri Baldy - click HERE to buy her from the on-line shop. Here's what I made ...

I wanted to make a different shape card for a change and used paper from my stash.  I love these little girls and they are so easy to colour - I used 'Orchid' and 'Amethyst' Promarkers to colour her dress, shoes and bow and I added a little glitter on her dress for an extra sparkle. The little postcard and sentiment are both from LOTV.

I am playing along at the new Besties Challenge Blog with this one - Anything Goes.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Halloween

Happy Monday morning to you,

I hope everyone had a great weekend, despite the snow in some places.  We had a little flurry on Friday evening, but not much more over the weekend, thank goodness.  It's half term break here this week, so I have more time to craft and visit blogland :)

I have been busy over the weekend with some design team work, but also made a little creation for Halloween too.  Here's what I came up with ...

This is the front of my little Accordion tag book, which is covered with some spooky black paper.  The image is LOTV - Abracadabra and is coloured with my Promarkers.  And now for the inside ...

The inside is covered with some more stashbox papers and a selection of die-cut and digital images, together with some super black ribbon which has purple witchy hats on, a little metal pumpkin charm and some Halloween wording.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Craft Punked - Halloween
Creative Inspirations - Happy Halloween
Fashionable Stamping - Halloween or Halloween colours
Stamping for the Weekend - Anything Goes
Try it on Tuesday - Halloween

See you soon,

A little Tag

It's Friday - it's Polkadoodles time!

Don't forget to check out the challenge blog every Friday for a new crafty challenge - this week it is to make a Tag, either stand alone or on a card.

I made a stand alone one and covered a plain kraft tag with purple paper from the last 'Pen and Paper Circle' CD and then subjected it to distress ink, stamping, a bit of gold embossing powder and some more stamping! I added a gold mirri heart which went through my embossing machine, topped with a little purple heart and then added a gorgeous Emma Canning image which is coloured with Promarkers to match. I recreated the little bunting banner at the top of the tag, to echo the one she is holding in the image.  Some gold ribbon, a bit of purple feather and a die-cut lace edge finishes off the tag.  Hope you like it!

Go check out the blog for some more fab inspiration from the Design Team and have a go - you could win yourself a prize.

Happy Tagging,
Hugz, Jan xx

Birthday Time Again ...

Morning everyone,

We have another family birthday today - this time it's my eldest daughter's turn, so I thought I would show you her card.  She loves anything with a 'gothicky' look, but thankfully never went through the gothic appearance phase! Lol - so her card has a bit of a gothic feel to it.  Here's what I made ...

I love these digital images from Kenny K - this one is called 'Devilish Donna' and she fits the bill perfectly.  I picked the black and purple colour scheme as it is one of Vanessa's favourites.  I seem to have a bit of a thing for feathers at the moment too, but love how they look on the card.  Papers are from my stash and the sentiment is 'Little Claire's Designs'.  If you would like any more details, you know where to find me.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Fairy Sparkle

Hi there everyone,

Back to school today, hence the late posting.  Today's card was made for the Sketch n Stash challenge - it's the first time I've used a sketch to make a card, but I really enjoyed it.  This week you could choose from a catalogue of sketches and here's the one I chose ...

This card uses two of my favourite things - shades of purple and fairies. Here's the finished design ...

Part of the challenge is to use some new or neglected stash on your card - I managed both! Lol.  The gorgeous papers are by Karen Nueburger and have been in my stash for what seems like forever!  The new item is the pretty little fairy stamp by Whimsy, which was part of a free set on the current issue of Papercraft essentials magazine.  She is coloured with my Promarkers and her wings are all sparkly with glitter (which doesn't show very well on the piccie!)  I think I managed to follow the sketch, adding a LOTV sentiment and a metal corner just to balance out the design.  If you would like to know anything else, please leave a comment below and I will answer.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Emergency Crafters - Butterflies, Birds or anything with Wings
Make my Monday - A Midsummer Night's Dream

See you all soon,
Hugz, Jan xx
