Nephew

Good morning,

I'm back again today with news of the next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Amy has chosen the theme of

'KRAFT AND BLUE'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

Sorry about the poor photo quality guys, no natural light when I took my pic!

I made this for my little nephew who will be 9 next week. The image is 'James - Laptop' from LOTV and is coloured with my Promarkers. All design papers are from my stash and I added die-cut stars to match one of the design papers. A stamped greeting and some letter tiles to finish off.

Hope you will come and play along with your own creations.

Blue at My Besties UK

Good morning,

I hope everyone had a great weekend - mine involved some impromptu crafty shopping with my baby girl. I bought one or two bits and pieces to add to my stash - including a fab new paper pad which was reduced in the clearance section - bargain!

On a crafty note, it's time for our next challenge over at My Besties UK and this week Carol challenge the design team to use the colour blue. So, I decided to be a little alternate today and use one of Sherri's little boy images for a change - here's what I ended up with for my DT inspiration ...

I delved into my stash of plain tags for this one and covered it with a piece of card which I had inked with various blue distress inks. I also ran it through my hexagon embossing folder and applied a little gilding wax to highlight areas to make the background.

The image was coloured with my Promarkers and added to the tag, along with the wording 'Little Boy Blue' which I created on my pc, then tore and inked around the edges.

Embellishments include a piece of pale blue polkadot ribbon, a few blue buttons, some blue die-cut stars and a couple of blue brads. Righty, I think there is sufficient blue there, don't you! Lol.

Hope you will come and join us with your own 'blue' creations this time - if you would like some more inspiration, why not pop over to the main blog and check out what my teamies made too.

A new Baby Boy

Good morning,

Well, that's half of the year gone already - where did that go!?

It's time for our next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our leader, Caz, has chosen the theme of
'HELLO BABY BOY'

Here's my DT inspiration, which I have to admit is a recycled one due to my time constraints over the weekend (so please forgive me) ...

This one is 6x6" in size and used a Saturated Canary image called 'Butterfly Baby' and is coloured with my Promarkers. The 'Baby' lettering is stamped using my Clarity 'Letterbox' stamp set and the small tags are die-cut and stamped to spell 'Boy'. Backing papers are from my stash and embellies include a doily, some paper flowers, a little twine to hang the cute little tags and a few adhesive pearls. Hope you like it.

Why not pop along and check out what my teamies have been up to - hope you can play along this week.

A little Gift Bag

Hello there,

Monday morning means it's time for our next challenge over at the 'Make My Monday' challenge blog and this week Rosie has chosen the theme, which is '3D ELEMENTS'. Now how much scope is there for this one - I didn't know where to start! It can be interpreted any way you like as long as you use something 3D, so it could be a 3D embellishment, decoupage, altered elements or even a 3D project itself. Here's what I decided on for my DT inspiration ...

I decided on the 3D project and made a little gift bag from just one piece of cardstock which I then embellished.  The image is LOTV and is called 'Big Hug' - isn't it adorable. I have coloured it with my Promarkers, added some frantage powder and a little glitter and then mounted it on a blue die-cut 'Fleur de Lys' square frame. Added embellishments include a Doohickey die-cut flower and heart swirl, together with some little punched butterflies and a few pearls.

The reverse of the bag has a 'To/From' label (printed on my pc) mounted on a smaller die-cut frame, together with matching flower and little punched butterfly.

I can't wait to see your interpretations of our theme this week and shall look forward to visiting your blogs throughout the week.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations - Die Cuts/Punches
Cute Card Thursday - Dies and Punches
Fussy & Fancy - Bingo (blue, flowers and pearls)

Happy crafting,
Hugz, Jan xx

Colour Combo at MMM

Morning crafters,

Well, it had to happen - my two week Easter break is well and truly over and it's back to school for me today!

That also means it's time for our next challenge over at Make My Monday and this week Caz has chosen another of her colour combos and we would love to see your projects using BLUE and BROWN. I decided to get all inky for this one - here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I made a set of three matching Artist Trading Cards - can't remember the last time I made any and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I started with three pieces of blank white card measuring 2.5" x 3.5" and treat them to a coating of 'Tumbled Glass' distress ink. Then I splattered them with a little water and blotted with some kitchen roll. Next I splodged some 'Walnut Stain' distress stain on my craft mat and moved it around until it beaded on the mat, then blotted the pieces of card to pick up some splodges of ink. I also added bits of text stamp using the same colour distress ink. I used a variety of images to stamp on the top of this with an archival black inkpad, then finished off with some doodling around the edges using a fine black micron pen and white highlighter.

I can't wait to see your projects using this week's theme and I shall look forward to visiting your blogs.

A Tilda Mini Book

Happy Tuesday to you all,

Hope you are all having a great day - I've been shopping this morning with my lovely daughter and we spent loads of money!! Ane yes, definitely some on crafty stash - I also bought a new cross stitch design as well, haven't done any of that for ages.

I have a little mini book to show you today, which I made for the Midweek Magnolias challenge (which closes today, so I better get a move on!)  Here's the finished project ...

The challenge this week is 'The Colour Blue' - not a colour I normally choose, but have loved playing with all the different shades of blue papers and embellishments.  This is the front cover of the book and is cut using a scalloped circle die and has a 'Tilda with Daffodil' image stamped, coloured with my Promarkers and cut out.  I also added the lettering to spell our her name and some little flower embellishments with a heart charm.

The second page is cut from acetate using a Labels One die and has a few Doohickey Doily Flowers which have been coloured with my Promarkers.  I coloured both sides and added buttons, pearls and adhesive gems to the centres.

The third page is cut using an Eyelet Square die and has 'Tilda with Bunny' (also coloured with Promarkers) sat in front of a little stamped postcard.

The reverse of the third page has a quote stamped on a Doohickey Scalloped tag which has been inked around the edges with 'Broken China' distress ink and a little Doohickey dragonfly.  The last page is cut using a Labels Seventeen die and has one of my favourite quotes stamped on a Doohickey Dream Tag, which is also inked with the same distress ink.  I have also added a Doohickey Heart Swirl behind the tag too. The whole book is tied together with two pieces of blue satin ribbon.

I would also like to enter this project into the Magnolia Down Under challenge which is to use 'Acetate'.

Hope you like it - enjoy the rest of your day.

A New Baby

Wow! Where did the weekend go? Can't say that I like a two day weekend - looking forward to my normal days next week, with my usual three day crafty weekend.  It's been a busy one this time too, hence no post yesterday - sorry.

I have a new baby card to show you tonight - I made it for a friend of my daughter who, after a very difficult pregnancy, has just given birth to a healthy little baby boy.  They are both doing well and my daughter is over the moon after being asked to be baby's god mother!  Here's what I made ...

Back to my 8x8" workspace on this one - I do like the extra space it gives me to play.  Papers are mainly Polkadoodles, with a scrap or two from my stash.  The image is 'Fizzy Moon - Wish upon a Star', coloured with my Promarkers.  The sentiment is LOTV and the bunting is hand made and stamped with some of my alphabet stamps. Embellishments include a couple of stamped stars and some blue candi - no adhesive gems or pearls this time - are you shocked!! Lol.

If you would like any other information, give me a shout.
Have a good week everyone.
